Franco Giannotti is conferred the title of Cavaliere of the "Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana" by the President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.  

   The Consul General of Italy, Enrico Granara presented the coveted award to Giannotti at a brief cerimony during his visit to Italiano per piacere on April 2, 2003, citing outstanding work in the promulgation of the Italian heritage and language.  On hand were some 60 members of the Club as well as Giannotti's wife Nerina, sons Fabio and Mark with respective wives Sue Conrad and Sarah Neff.

   Cav. Franco Giannotti is also the creator and publisher of this portal and the founder of the club "Italiano per piacere"
