(The Hill) On Saturday, July
30, 2005, Hill 2000 Inc. will host Hill Day at Berra Park. Planners of
the Hill Day event have cooked up recipe for a family oriented food and
entertainment event.
The festivities will begin at 12:00pm
with the sale of food and other items from the numerous restaurants and
shops on The Hill and neighboring communities, including: Anthonino’s,
Gian-Tony’s Restaurant, Lorenza’s Restaurant, DiGregorio’s Market, Milo’s
Bocce Garden, Pizzeria della Piazza, Rosciglione’s Bakery, LoRusso’s and
Girasole Gifts. Guests can choose from the many restaurant specialties,
including salsicia (Italian Sausage), Arancini (Italian Rice ball), Pizza,
Calimare or a Pork Sandwich with a Mint Garlic Sauce and quench their thirst
with water, soda, beer or wine.
In addition to the food and drink,
live entertainment will be playing throughout the day. Tarentella
(Traditional Italian Dance) Dancers will take the stage at 12:15.
This will be followed by Jake’s Leg playing from 1:00-4:00 and Presentations
playing from 5:00-9:00. Bocce courts and demonstrations will also
be available throughout the day. Food booths will close at 8:00 p.m.
Off site parking with shuttle service
can be found at Shaw School, US Bank and Family Dollar, all located in
the area of Columbia and Macklind. Any proceeds of the event will
be used to further the work of the neighborhood organization within The
Hill community.
