Presenza: A New Look at Italian-Canadian Heritage
From:  June 13, 2003
To:      September 6, 2004

What do an antique coffee grinder, an ornate Sicilian cart, a designer dress by Nadya Toto and a Fiat Topolino have in common?

They are all part of Presenza, the first major national exhibition to present the heritage, the day-to-day lives and the diversity of Italian Canadians. Presenza uses videotaped interviews, fictional characters and over 300 personal objects, gathered from across Canada, to highlight the values and skills that a generation of Italian immigrants brought to their new country.

Once considered old-fashioned, their ways are now returning to the mainstream.

Encounter Italian Canadians and their passion for living!

The exhibition has been made possible through the generous support of Saputo Inc. Additional support has been provided by the following sponsors: OMNI Television, The National Bank of Canada and the Ottawa Citizen.
