Below I am transmitting the Report that I received from Walter Santi
(Activist Extraordinaire) who attended the AIDA vs 'Sopranos' Hearing held
today.
AIDA vs 'Sopranos'
I quote:
===================================================
August 29...... Downtown Chicago

I just returned home after attending the motion filed by HBO to dismiss
the AIDA law suit.

As could have been predicted.. and. without a crystal ball..... HBO"S
appointed lead attorney was a zio Tomaso . (.Uncle Tom)

Apparently HBO wanted to level the playing field between attorneys by
also having their lead attorney..an Italian-American.

I thought HBO"S summary to dismiss the suit followed the some of the
usual  lame arguments.

"Tony Soprano is a fictional character not meant  to be other than
entertainment"

"One can't please everybody...some people don't like Catcher In The Rye"

"The Individual dignities Act Illinois has seems to be discriminatory as
other States don't have a similar act."

And of course the usual freedom of expression pap was offered.

Conclusion of hearing.........

Judge Soebel will issue a ruling on Sept 13th as to whether he can
conclude the Aida lawsuit has any merit.

A bright side:

Chicago Channel 7 TV covered the hearing and it should get ample
coverage. Newscaster Joel Daley of this station is also a lawyer so he
has special interest in the case and is a true friend of the
Italian-American community.

Event was also covered by Chicago Sun-Times
Stay tuned
