"The Transform Columbus Day" web site outlines the plans of the
Anti-Columbus group.

It can be found in its entirety at:
http://www.transformcolumbusday.com/4directions.htm

From my quick surmise it contains these interesting sections:

1) Distorted, Exaggerated, Untruths, Taken out of Context Propaganda
about Columbus.
2) Incredible Lies about the benefits to Italy of Columbus' Discovery.
3) The Objectives of the Anti-Columbus group
4) Basic Street Medic Training for Protesters
5) Legal Training for Legal Aid to Protesters

=====================================================
1) Distorted, Exaggerated, Untruths, Taken out of Context
Propaganda about Columbus.

Too voluminous to respond to, blaming everything "bad" that has
happened in the last 500 years in the World to Columbus, including
the WTO!

2) Incredible Lies about the benefits to Italy of Columbus' Discovery.

For instance, under Frequently asked Questions #5, it states:

FAQ #5. Question: What does this history of Columbus have to do with
protesting the Columbus Day parade?

Answer: ..." the parade represents more than a celebration of Italian
culture, or even of Columbus, the man. It is a glorification of the colonial
tradition described above and the privileging of an Italian past that
benefited and grew out of that process of subjugation."

Such an ABSURDITY. Any one who knows ANYTHING about European
History realizes that prior to Columbus' Discovery of America, that The
Italian City-States, were the prosperous Center of trading, finance,
and culture of the Mediterranean, the then center of the "Western" World.

With the Discovery of the Americas, The Atlantic replaced the
Mediterranean as the principal trade routes, made Spain immensely
wealthy, and resulted in the financial decline of the Italian City-States,
and an almost immediate "carving up" and "occupation" and "enslavement"
of the "indigenous peoples" of Italy for 350 years (1512-1860) by various
European powers, including Spain, France, Austria, Germany, etc.

Such preposterous remarks are typical of their perverted and warped
historical "research/findings".

3) The Objectives of the Anti-Columbus group

"TRANSFORM COLUMBUS DAY, STOP HATE SPEECH"

"A CALL to end the "celebration" of 509 years of genocide,
environmental destruction and globalization from above."

Seattle, D.C., Philadelphia, L.A., Prague, Quebec , (Seattle, Genoa)…"

"The fight against globalization will make its next stop in
Denver, Colorado, October 5 - 8, 2001."

... "This year, AIM and allies will present a massive, vigorous opposition
to the parade."

"What began over 500 years ago with Columbus – genocide of
indigenous peoples, exploitation of their land and resources, destruction
of the natural environment, all in the name of profit – continues today,
and has reached its logical culmination in the current "free trade" regime
represented by the WTO, the World Bank, the IMF, NAFTA and the
proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA)."

"Reclaim the Streets of Denver!"

"Join us to confront the parade..."

4) Basic Street Medic Training for  Protesters

BASIC STREETMEDIC TRAINING

Colorado StreetMedics will hold an action medical training on 27th -

and Treatment Protocols, and the basics of street first aid with lots of
hands on.

Followed by role plays with evaluations after each role play.

Even if you have taken this training before please join us for the updated
info and the new protocols...

We recommend that those of you who have participated in this training
in the past come to this one to pick up the new protocols and to refresh
your knowledge.

Come dressed for a street action! This will be an extremely hands on
training. Bring packs, vests, sports water bottles, gas masks and any

5) Legal Training for Legal Aid to Protesters

DENVER ACTIVISTS LEGAL TRAININGS...

Training for legal professionals...
Presenters will provide an overview of recent police and prosecutorial
tactics and charges that have been used against political activists
nationally as well as solidarity tactics that have been successfully
employed by activists in several actions around the country....

Legal Rights and Solidarity Tactics for Demonstrators...
Through a series of comprehensive role-plays, participants practice
using solidarity tactics to protect each other in mass arrests, jail and
court. Participants also work on handling media questions and police
interrogation. Includes an overview of facilitation skills, meeting tools,
and consensus process. Presenters also discuss tools for addressing
sexism, racism and classism during meetings. Participants practice
using consensus process quickly in three high-pressure scenarios:
evaluating police threats of felony charges during a simple blockade;
handling messaging upon the sudden arrival of TV camera crews; and
responding to a police raid on large meeting.

Legal Observing...
Presenters provide an overview of procedures and equipment for legal
observing at demonstrations. Participants view a videotaped incident of
police misconduct, and practice reporting it and collecting physical
evidence. Presenters show examples of effective use of videotape,
photographs, and audiotape. Presenters summarize "free speech and
free assembly" law, as well as and other defenses to charges against
protesters....

Know Your Rights...
This "beat the heat" material is designed for people who are concerned
about police harassment or who are contemplating direct action in
groups too small to use solidarity tactics. Presenters enact ten role-plays
with participants, to drill effective responses to police encounters
involving
detention, arrest, search and interrogation. Presenters provide an overview
of the rights of suspects and arrestees, including information on entrapment.
