The ANNOTICO Report

It is Not that Giovanni Rozzo accomplished such monumental feats, but that
he did ALL the Little Things, for EVERYONE, for such a LONG TIME (50
years), Not looking for Thanks or Recognition, but the pure satisfaction of
making fellow Italians lives a little easier.

This Italian community in England, even in one of it's recognized center of
University learning, should remind us that there are thriving  Italian
communities in  and in every corner of he world.!!!

HONOR FOR 'MR FIXIT' OF ITALIANS

Cambridge Evening News
Cambridge, UK
June 2, 2005

A 92-YEAR-OLD who has devoted his life to helping others has been made a
Cavaliere by the Italian Government.

Giovanni Rozzo, of Fulbourn Old Drift, Cherry Hinton, was presented with a
certificate and medal by Piero Vaira, Vice- Consul of the Italian Consulate
in Bedford.

The Italian knighthood, one of only two awarded this year, was made in
front of Mr Rozzo's wife, Anna, their eldest son, John, who travelled
especially from Rome, and their grandson, Karl.

Mr Rozzo said: "All my life I have wanted to help. I try to fight for the
people and never expected to receive anything for it."

Mr Rozzo has been helping members of the Italian community since he and his
wife moved to Cambridge in 1956.

From form-filling to advice on passports and pensions, Mr Rozzo has been
using his contacts and years of knowledge to the benefit of others.

Antonio Coblli, from Cherry Hinton, whose family Mr Rozzo has helped in the
past, said: "Any problems people cannot solve they come to Giovanni. To me,
he is a father to all Italians. He deserves such recognition and everyone
should know what he has achieved over the years."

Although Mr Rozzo has suffered health problems, he still works tirelessly
for others.

"All I life I have wanted to serve and I care more for my family and other
people than I do myself," he said. "My wife asks me 'why do you do this
job?', and I say it is my pleasure and I want to do something."
