Study Abroad Programs in Italy a Worthwhile Project for Local IA Groups

The ANNOTICO Report

While Italy is the Birthplace of Western Civilization, and then dragged it out of the Middle Ages with the Renaissance, ONLY now has The University of Louisiana introduced a Study Abroad Program that involves Italy.

It  follows programs to Mexico, France and England.... finally!!!

A worthwhile project would be for any local Italian American organizations to contact their local Colleges and Universities to encourage such Study in Italy programs.

University of Louisiana expands study abroad program to include Italy

LAFAYETTE, La. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has expanded its summer study abroad program to include Italy.
It already had programs in Mexico, Paris and London. Now it also has a five-week study option in Florence, including visits to Venice, Rome and the smaller towns of Montepulciano, Pienza, San Gimigmiano, Siena, Lucca and Pisa.
About 21 people made the inaugural trip.
For about seven-thousand dollars each, including spending money, students immersed themselves in the culture _ taking language, cooking and wine tasting classes, strolling the streets once walked by Dante, Michelangelo, Medici and Machiavelli.
Nationwide, more than 174-thousand American students earned college credit abroad last year, according to a 2004 report from the Institute of International Education.
