Amphibious Fiat "Panda" to Swim from UK to Italy ??????

The ANNOTICO Report

From Dover UK to Sardinia is 2200 miles !!!!!!! Along the entire North and West Coast of France,

the entire North, West, and South Coast of Spain, and 600 more miles across the Mediterranean!!!!

How many miles will they get to the gallon, and where are the gas stations????

And whats up with the "Panda". Are they great swimmers??

Why not Dolphin??? Dolphins CAN swim, and do Tricks, and this TerreMare will need a few!!!

The previous longest trip was 25 miles, between Naples and Capri.

I can't see them even making it through the English Channel and its Huge Waves,

then there is the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean. If I were a betting man.........

A one-off amphibious Fiat Panda is to attempt to swim from the UK to Italy today.

Italian engineer Maurizio Zanisi, formerly of Iso Rivolta, calls his car the Panda Terramare 4. Based on a Panda 4x4 chassis, it has an added inflatable flotation belt and water-jet propulsion driven from the rear axle.

The Panda Terramare 4 has already undergone testing in Lake Como and Lake Maggiore in Italy, and in the Mediterranean off Sardinia; its longest journey so far has been a round trip between Naples and Capri - 25 miles. It entered the sea at Folkestone, Kent this morning (Friday July 21) and will head to Dover before going eastwards to Italy.
