"Veiled" (Muslim) Beach in Riccone Raises Lega Nord Ire

The ANNOTICO Report

Lega Nord (Padania- Emilia e Romagna) led by Giancluca Pini has complained bitterly about the fact that the town of Riccione, that has set aside an area of their beach for only veiled women (Muslim attired).

Riccione is located 6 miles south of Rimini on the Adriatic Sea, just east of San Marino, at a similar latitude as Florence

It seems like a very slight accommodation for religious purposes. Just as I think that certain beaches should be set aside for Nudists (Just the opposite!! :) :)

Pini, along with Umberto Bossi, Roberto Corradi, Mauro Manfredini and Massimo Polledri have long campaigned against Muslims, and in this case charge that it is Racism vs Italians to permit such accommodation.

I'm a STRONG Supporter of the Maintenance of Italian Culture, BUT this is Absurdity!!!!

'VEILED' BEACHS: LEAGUE - FOSTER RACISM AGAINST ITALIANS

(AGI)Special service by AGI on behalf of the Italian Prime Minister's office

Rome, Italy

3 August 2006

The idea of 'veiled' beaches does not appeal to the League who, led by Gianluca Pini, have rejected the initiative for Muslims that the Riccione town council had approved.

For the League MP the proposal is "incredible, and must be defeated. This is an attempt by Islamics to exploit every social and productive aspect of our society in order to infiltrate it and distort the principles that support our way of living together".

In Pini's view: "it's nothing other than a ploy invented specifically by some of the councillors of the left to allow Muslims to be more comfortable and content in our country and who thereby show that they have no intention of adapting to our customs".

"The most obvious risk - the League MP continued - is that of creating an off-limits zone that, contrary to the principles of equality and freedom that support our order, would encourage an unthinkable situation of inconvenience for our people. A beach of this type would, in fact, end up in encouraging positive discrimination against Italians who would be excluded and would find themselves prisoners in their own home. The decision made by the left - in conclusion - is a demagogic one unmatched in any other part of Europe and that comprises a sign of weakness in the face of Islamic culture". 031810 AGO 06
