MINISTERS MEET IN GENOA
Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi met with Great Britain's prime minister
Tony Blair, as the latter was returning from talks in the Middle East.
Both
leaders acknowledged after their meeting that they shared the same
views on
foreign policy. They agreed that the United States, Russia and the
European
Union should make a strong effort to restart the peace negotiations
between
Israel and the Palestinians in a move that will hopefully cripple
international terrorism...
(2) MILAN MAYOR WILL MARCH FOR
AMERICA
The mayor of Milan, Gabriele Albertini, announced his participation
in the
Pro-America March planned by Silvio Berlusconi's center-right Forza
Italia
party on November 10. In an interview for "Il Foglio," he elaborated:
"Milan's city council decided that I will march in Rome, with the city's
banner." Milan's first citizen blew away criticism from the political
opposition about his participation and defended himself, saying that
he
wanted to avoid being accused of anti-Americanism. He added:
"Does it bother
anyone? My post is available." Emma Bonino's Radical Party will also
participate in the event....
