Ancient
The art that graced their luxurious homes was preserved for centuries by volcanic ash.
"In
Stabiano: Exploring the Ancient Seaside Villas of the
Roman Elite," will be exhibited for three months beginning Nov. 3 at the
Toledo Museum of Art.
It
features 70 frescoes, statues, and household items from Stabiae,
a resort area buried in ash and pumice when
Priming
the pump will be "The Lure of Pompeii," opening Oct. 20 through Jan.
14. It will explore the intrigue this ancient city has had since its excavation
in the 1750s.
