Breaking News: Restraining Order Filed in Batavia Fuggedaboudit Play

The coalition of local and national Italian American organizations held a press conference Tuesday, November 14, to announce that it filed a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) in Federal Court to block performances of the school play Fuggedaboudit, subtitled a little mobster comedy, that was to be performed by the Bada  Bing Players. Apparently inspired by the HBO series, "The Sopranos", at the Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, Illinois the performances were scheduled for this week end.

 

A  hearing is scheduled before a  Federal Judge Wednesday Morning, November 15,  at 9:30 am.

The Organizations represented included representatives of: The Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA), the National Italian American Foundation, The Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (of Chicago),the  Italian American Human Relations Foundation of Chicago. They will be joined by Anthony  Calderone, mayor, Forest Park, Il,

and Parents Marina Amoroso-Levato, parent of child at the Rotolo Middle School, and Joseph Rago, Esq., The Rago Group, Chicago, Il. & a parent of school children in Geneva.

News from Al Rolandi, who went down to Batavia today:

A temporary restraining order was filed in the Federal Court in Chicago  this morning.

Just learned from the Court Clerk that a hearing is scheduled before a  Federal Judge tomorrow morning at 9:30.
