Is Nerdy Dweeby
"Fuggedaboudit" Author a Child Molester ?
The
ANNOTICO Report
Bigoted
Why
would the audience give a standing ovation to an unknown author;
Nerdy, Dweeby, Matthew Myers whose play "Fuggedaboudit" they had NEVER SEEN, unless it was
because they were in support of the Bigotry the play extols, and want
to "Thumb their Nose" at the Italian American Community's
objections of Negative Stereotyping ????
The
only other reason would be that
Matthew

As
I look more closely as Matt Myers' photo, it certainly has an interesting
similarity to photos of Child Molesters that I've seen. He certainly seems to
be unsure of his "sexuality". Are parents of the children that he
teaches absolutely sure of the security of their
children?
Has
a thorough "background" check been made? If I were a parent of of a child in his class, I would frequently be asking
my child "subtle" questions. Sure he seems "meek" and
"nice', but then doesn't THAT fit the Profile ???
And
have we not been surprised and shocked at the recent rash of revelations of
teachers finally exposed as Child Molesters?
We
must keep in mind that "Dr Phil", a protege
of Oprah, and who can argue with these two "icons", constantly warns
us that Parents should be "ever vigilant", and if an error is to be
made, it should be made in favor of protecting children. After all, "Where
there is smoke, there MAY be fire" ???
Now
please understand, that I am NOT making any accusations, just exercising my
right to Free Speech,
that Rotolo MS Principal Don
And,
I don't want to be "throttled" anymore by any
"responsibilities" of Free Speech than Myers is!! :)
It
may seem like I am "Stereotyping" by appearance, BUT,
actually, I am "utilizing" the logic of Myers and McKinney, and
showing you that just because Myers reminds me of some Child Molesters
I've seen, that he MAY not be, and he Could be "normal", MAYBE.
Further,
again using McKinneyand Myers logic,
"portraying" someone, or a group in a "negative"
manner, is
merely a potential "teaching tool", to learn more
about Stereotypes. :(
Incidentally,
it is rumored that Principal Don McKinney "cross dresses". He
has declined to deny my inquiry.
Oh
yes, this obvious "mental midget" stated that none of the NON Italian
parents were offended by the Negative Stereotyping of Italian Americans.
But
now, after having "considered the
SOURCE" of this abomination of a play, let's consider the
"CONTENT".
Myers
says the comedy's message is simple: "Don't judge a book by its cover.
When you judge a book by its cover, sometimes you're mistaken."
"Sometimes
you're mistaken".... But does that mean that: Most of the Time you're
Right?????
In other words, Most of the time Italian Americans are Mobsters, and
Most of the time Italian Americans are Bad Guys, BUT only "sometimes"
they are Not!!! ?????????
That is more than
"Simple" and less than "Simplistic", and merely "vacuous" words of a
"Simpleton".
Certainly, this
"philosophy" is not worthy of a "Fortune Cookie", and
reflects why Education Majors in College were "stereotyped" as the
"dumbest" in the school. (Well, "sometimes", they're not,
but Myers doesn't seem to fit the exception:)
I'm also
wondering if Myers is planning to make a Series out of this type of "teaching tool"???
Perhaps,
"In the Hood" starring Black Pimps and Drug Dealers. Or
"Manana" starring Lazy Mexicans that
only took time out to stuff their faces with Tacos and Tamales, and make more
Babies, Or "Shylocks" starring Hook nose Jews, all the time scheming
to cheat a Goy.
Please
keep in mind that my statements are written with "tongue in
cheek", with a satirical "bent" which is not intended to treat
any parties with ridicule, or derision, but merely to use caustic wit to
expose folly, vice, and stupidity :) :)
BUT to
get serious: If the media keep churning out one portrayal about Mafia
after another, (Movie,Theater, Article, Report) that associate
Italian Americans with Mafia, the next time an Italian applies for a job, even
if you are an open minded person, such an association will flash through your
mind. Now, what will happen if you are not an open-minded person but just an
average Joe? Most probably you will transfer these associations into your
dealings with that person. You may, if angry, call him names and defame him. He
may even be passed for a promotion and refused various social
interactions."
"In such a
way, organs of the Media are, with total impunity, sowing seeds of poison by
planning one negative stereotype after another in the common peoples minds
...by constantly portraying other groups in a negative or ludicrous light they
besmirch the reputation of such groups and destroy their right to live with
dignity and self-respect. "
A HIT FOR "
FUGGEDABOUDIT" WRITER, YOUNG ACTORS
Saturday,
November 18, 2006
The
audience cheered and gave
Myers'
"Fuggedaboudit - A Little Mobster Comedy,"
drew the ire of Italian-Americans who charged that the play promoted hurtful
stereotypes, but the parents and students who attended clearly enjoyed the
show.
The
production played Friday and will have a second performance tonight, after a
federal district court judge rejected a civil-rights lawsuit brought by Marina
Amoroso-Lavato, with the backing of a coalition of
Italian-American groups, seeking to prevent the performance.
"This
is the world premiere," Myers told the 250 or so parents and students in
the audience as he introduced the production. "It seems to me like it was
a bit of a slow news week," he added, drawing laughter.
Myers
said the comedy's message is simple: "Don't judge a book by its cover.
When you judge a book by its cover, sometimes you're mistaken."
Taking
note of the controversy surrounding his play, Myers said: "Everybody's
been talking about the script, talking about the script, talking about the
script. Let's just do it!"
The
play was a typical middle school farce, with plenty of roles for students to
play, and a plot and jokes that turned on mistaken identities,
misunderstandings and over-the-top characters.
The
dispute over the play, which developed after parent Amoroso-Lavato read the script, generated attention in the
news media across the country.
But
there were no protests at the play, and the area that school officials had
cordoned off for the news media was largely empty, though three television news
stations all sent mini-cams to cover the show.
The
play's plot revolved around the opening night for a new Italian restaurant.
Many of the characters are Italian-Americans with accents, and two of the
characters are reformed mobsters.
In
addition to mobsters, the play featured other stereotypical roles. There was
the ditzy blonde, a pair of overzealous law enforcement officers, a juvenile
rapper, a food critic with an English accent, and a mentally unstable chef
wielding a butcher knife.
The
Italian-American characters told each other to "fuggedaboudit"
at least 15 times during the course of the play, which lasted more than two
hours.
