In short, the old values, a little individualistic, a bit of a contrast between the way other see us and the way we see ourselves

(AGI) - Rome, The word that is heard most and best represents Italy in the world is "amore".

...This was revealed in a survey carried out by the 'Societa' Dante Alighieri', the institute that since the 18th century protects and spreads the Italian language and culture in the world.

According to the survey, the results of which are published in the Society's annual report, 22pct of the Italians abroad consider it "the most beautiful word of our language".

The survey reads like a true Italian autobiography, looking through the mirror of its own citizens living abroad.

Second in the ranking is "mamma", followed - a surprise - by "pace" (peace, ed.). Perhaps an effect of the international political events of recent years. Fourth on the list is "liberta'" (freedom, ed.), fifth "amicizia" (friendship), sixth "figli" (children). In short, the old values, a little individualistic, a bit of a contrast between the way other see us and the way we see ourselves.
