Contributions
made by Italians to India
and other Asian countries would come up for discussion at a one-day
international seminar here on February 8.
Academics
from Italy, Japan, Sri Lanka
and different parts of the country are expected to attend the seminar, a
release from the Pondicherry University said here today.
The
seminar, jointly organised by Asian Christian
Studies in the University and the Saint Francis Movement, Italy, would focus on the contributions made by Italians as merchants,
architects, scientists, educationists, anthropologists, missionaries and
cultural delegates in the 16th to 18th centuries to India and other Asian countries.
Vice
Chancellor of the University J A K Tareen
would inaugurate the meeting.
