THE PORTAL IS GROWING – 69,000 HITS IN JANUARY – The stats are in
and we are very pleased with the growing popularity of our www.ItalyStl.com
Portal.Early reports for February show the number rising by almost another
10,000 hits.  Interesting that Italy accounts for over 15% of this activity.  We
are definitely contributing to the “Return Information” sought by the
Ministero degli esteri to educate the Italian population on the whereabouts
of Italians in foreign lands. Which components of our Portal get the biggest
play?  By far, Storia d’Italia (see following story), is in  first place for
the 5th consecutive month. Check out the other pages that make up our top
ten attractions. See the rotating globe under “DEPARTMENTS” on our Main
Page.

GERMANS HAIL THE SOPRANOS, CRITICIZE ITALY’S GOVERNMENT

Gianmaria Spagnoletti in Italy, is sending us more venom from Germany.
Ulrich Rosenbaum of Hamburger Morgenpost goes as far as comparing Berlusconi
to Milosevic and terms the appointment of Gianfranco Fini to the European
Convention an outrage.  We refuse to publish this trash.

QUOTE OF THE DAY – “God does work wonders in His mysterious ways. An
aging Italian population is now being re-stocked with young Argentines going back
to Italy and their ancestral land for better job opportunities. They will be
the ones taking jobs no one wants and they will bring new skills to Italy
and they will re-stock Italy's cradles. One county's loss will be another
country's gain. Sempre avanti, Walter Santi”

YOUR COMMENTS

Dear Franco:

It has been awhile since I visited your Italy St. Louis website.  I used it
this morning to get some information from the Corriere della Sera. It seems
like each and every time that I visit ItalyStl it is even more informative,
useful, creative, professional and beautiful than the time before. Hope you
can keep it up forever. Thanks for a terrific public service.

Eugene Mariani, President
Italian Club of St. Louis
