Thanks to this podium, Corsi secures once more his third place in the World Championship, he is now just 4 points from Shoya Tomizawa and 23 from series leader Toni Elias.

It was an unlucky race for Mattia Pasini, who ended his Sunday prematurely after losing his MotoBI’s machine's front wheel during the eighth lap.

Simone Corsi - 3rd "I’m happy for this podium, the team did a good job and I gave my best to honour the work they did this weekend. I knew I had a good race pace but the difficulties we suffered in qualifying and warm-up worried me a little. I succeeded in getting a pretty good start, moving forward a lot in the first lap. I was very determined. I know the track perfectly and I knew that recovery from a low grid slot is feasible thanks to the wideness of the track. Now we need to improve our performances in qualifying, but for now we enjoy this happy moment as we brought home more important points for the championship."

Mattia Pasini - withdraw "We worked hard during the weekend to test different solutions for our set-up. On Friday I immediately managed to score good times, but we didn’t succeed in improving. I was determined to make a good start but I couldn’t find the right way and I was stuck in the pack. Then I started pushing hard to recover but the front wheel went away and I felt without any injury. The development we’ve made so far is paying us back, but we still have a lot of work to do, analyzing the data and looking for the best solution to do better in qualifying and start in better positions on the grid."
