SallyAnn Salsano, a Long Island native, an attendee of Missouri U, and  Producer of Jersey Shore, a self professed Guidette, was like Snooki in her youth; a Loud Mouth, Drunken  Whore, but even Fatter, because this now 30 something person , either gained a lot of weight over the years,  or if she dared wearing her bathing suit must have looked like a tanned gnocco ("dumpling"). 
 
When she says "I am my people," she must mean a Guidette, like a Biker Chick or Rock Band Groupie, NOT a GENUINE Italian American. 
 
As evidence Salsano says, "I always say to my producers and to my cast, 'I will never ask you to do something I would not do myself,'" Salsano said. "But therein lies a problem, because there's not much I won't do."

Meet SallyAnn Salsano, a nice Italian-American girl from Farmingdale, LI, who grew up to unleash guido culture upon the masses. 

"I am my people," says the 30-something mastermind and exec producer of MTV's breakout reality show "Jersey Shore." "If I were not making reality TV, I'd be on it." 

Salsano, a teen daytime-TV talk-show junkie who grew up to produce such reality hits as "Tool Academy" and "A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila," was approached by an executive at VH1 a couple of years ago. 

"She said, 'We're doing this show about guidos and I'm coming to you -- you're the biggest guido I know,' " Salsano recalled. 

Though she grew up getting perms and going to the tanning salon every day -- "when I went to college [in the Midwest] I had people asking me if I was even white" -- Salsano had trouble coming up with a concept. 

Then she thought about her summers spent in share houses at the Jersey Shore. "I said, 'If you put a camera in one of those summer shares -- now that's  a show.' " 

At first, half of her crew -- the half, she said, not from the East Coast -- felt like they were filming an undiscovered species.....

She knew, she said, that what they were filming was great: "But we thought it'd be a cult thing." 

"Jersey Shore," now in its third season, is the most successful show in MTV's history, averaging nearly 9 million viewers an episode. 

The appeal, Salsano said, is in the chemistry among the cast, and she relied on her gut when auditioning. 

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino "was in the chair for 60 seconds and he goes, 'I'm more comfortable with my shirt off,' " Salsano said. "Amazing. Amaz ing."
