REPORTS SAYS PER CAPITA GNP IN ITALY BELOW AVERAGE

According to report issued yesterday by Eurostat, the European Institute of Statistics, Italy's per capita GNP (Gross National Product):

...is the lowest of the four richest European countries, 

...and below the median of the both the European Union 
...and the common currency countries. 

Great Britain leads Europe with a per capita GNP of 26,500 euro, followed by Germany with 25,100 and France with 24,100. 

Italy's per capita GNP stands at 21,000. The median figure for common currency countries is 22,200 euros, while that for the entire European Union is 23,200.
