RADIO MESSAGE TO OUTER SPACE IN CELEBRATION OF MARCONI

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi's historic first-ever transatlantic radio message on January 18th, 1903, his 70-year-old daughter Elettra spoke via radio to the space shuttle Columbia.

"In the same spirit of my father's achievement 100 years ago and, again from Cape Cod, I send all of you aboard the Columbia my warmest greetings and best wishes," Marconi the younger said to American astronaut Ken Bowersox, the shuttle's commander.

Bowersox replied, "It's wonderful to hear your voice out here in space."

PARMIGIANO CHEESE MOST "IMITATED" ITALIAN FOOD PRODUCT

Italy's famous Parmigiano cheese is the Bel Paese's most envied and imitated food product the world over.

In Brazil, the local version of the pasta topper is called "Parmesao", while in Argentina it is "Regianito".In other South American countries, names vary - from "Reggiano" to "Parmesano".

In the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan, it is called "Parmesan".
There are even web sites dedicated to "Made in Wisconsin" imitations of Italy's 30 best-known cheeses, replete with photos.

The producers of the real thing are not exactly happy about the situation. "These imitations do damage to our export balances, but they also do an injustice to consumers," they say. Real "Parmigiano" cheese is made from the milk of 207.000 selected cows.
