Union Avenue Opera Theatre closes its Tenth Anniversary Season with Puccini’s powerful Turandot on August 20, 22, 26, and 28. Lise Lindstrom and Eric will sing the roles of Princess Turandot and Prince Calaf. Roseanne Ackerly and Warren Caplan will sing Liù and Timur, and Patrick Hogan, Gustavo Ahualli and Nicholas Simpson will sing Ping, Pang, and Pong. Performances are fully staged with ensemble, accompanied by orchestra, and sung in Italian with projected English titles. Stage direction will be by Mark James Meier and UAOT Artistic Director Scott Schoonover will conduct. The opening night performance will have audio description and a pre-performance discussion with Dr. Glen Bauer, Director of Music History and Literature at Webster University at 7 PM. All performances are at Union Avenue Opera Theatre, 733 North Union Blvd., one block north of Delmar, and begin at 8 PM. Lighted parking is available behind the church. Opening night doors open at 6:45 PM, all other performances at 7:15 PM. Tickets are $30 for center front, $25 for adult general admission, and $20 for students and seniors (60+).
